Traffic Statistics January 2013
CPH: Passenger numbers unchanged
January passenger numbers at Copenhagen Airport were at a status quo. There
were just 1,725 fewer travellers than in the same month of last year.
A total of 1,580,771 million passengers travelled through Copenhagen Airport in
January, representing a 0.1% year-on-year decline.
"Overall, the number of international passengers grew, but January was
generally a little atypical as business traffic picked up rather late after
this year's long Christmas and New Year holiday break. That also had an effect
on transfer traffic. In addition, domestic traffic remained lower than last
year's level due to the bankruptcy of Cimber Sterling," said Thomas Woldbye,
CEO of Copenhagen Airport.
The number of international passengers grew by 2.0%, while there were 4.6%
fewer transfer passengers than last year. Domestic traffic was 17.6% lower year
on year.
The number of take-offs and landings was down by 5.9% as airlines deployed
larger aircraft and had better load factors.
