Konica Minolta Adds Inofile ChartMD Document Scanning to Its EnvisionIT Healthcare Portfolio

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announces the addition of Inofile ChartMD™, a clinical capture solution designed for the ambulatory market, to its EnvisionIT Healthcare solution portfolio. Using specific network scanners, ChartMD allows physician practices and ancillary care providers to efficiently scan documents and patient information into their ONC-certified electronic health record system (EHR).

“In today’s fast paced healthcare environment the necessity to access, share and understand data is paramount. Approximately 40 to 60 percent of patient information exists in an unstructured format such as paper documents, lab reports, and referrals. Physician offices need simple but effective ways to capture and organize this information in order to complete a patient record,” says Therasa Bell, president and chief technology officer, Inofile. “With ChartMD, ambulatory care providers can scan a complete patient chart or capture loose documents on demand transforming the unstructured content to structured, usable formats that are easily managed and used by healthcare organizations and clinical systems.”

“The Konica Minolta EnvisionIT Healthcare portfolio provides customers a complete solution by combining industry leading hardware, software and IT services that help healthcare facilities reduce costs and maximize operational efficiencies,” says Sam Errigo, senior vice president, Business Intelligence Services, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. “With the addition of ChartMD, we are able to offer the ambulatory market a simple yet intuitive way to streamline the capturing of patient information into an EHR. Not only does this save time and ensure that healthcare providers are compliant with regulations, it allows physicians to provide the best care possible to patients.”

Konica Minolta will be showcasing ChartMD along with its full EnvisionIT Healthcare portfolio at HIMSS 2014, February 23-27 in Orlando, Florida in the Konica Minolta Booth # 4029.
