Sweden – Becoming a World Leader in Mathematics

The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation has decided in collaboration with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to support Swedish research in mathematics. The Crafoord Prize in Polyarthritis 2013 is announced on Thursday 17 January

On Thursday morning on 17 January, at 08:00 am (Swedish time, CET +1) the Crafoord Prize for 2013 will be announced. This year’s discipline is Polyarthritis (diseases that causes inflammation in several joints, e.g. rheumatoid arthritis).
A press release and an illustrated popular science article will be distributed and scientific experts are available on telephone. Hopefully, the Laureate/-s (max. 3 persons)...

Wineland National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and University of Colorado Boulder, CO, USA “for ground-breaking experimental methods that enable measuring and manipulation of individual quantum systems”.
