NEW YORK, NY – SEPTEMBER 13, 2016 – Downtown style gets another address in Manhattan as Lafayette 148 New York opens its second store in SoHo at 423 Broome Street. This new location marks the continuation of the brand’s US retail expansion, and is another milestone being celebrated during its 20th anniversary.

The 2,400 square-foot store is set within a designated Landmark building in the SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District. Architecture is a constant source of inspiration for the company, and the historic designation made the location (which is also two blocks away from its headquarters) a natural choice. Designed in partnership with Charles Sparks + Company, the space stays true to both the building’s heritage and Lafayette 148 New York’s modern aesthetic. With espresso-colored wood floors, high ceilings, and raw-edged tables it evokes the spirit of the neighborhood and also reflects the brand’s signature colors of black and white, with accents of red.

With a curated selection of Creative Director, Emily Smith’s top picks, and exclusive items, the Broome Street Store lends a fresh perspective on the collection, designed to appeal to the next generation of customers. One-on-one shopping with Personal Stylists, expert fittings, alterations, and more are all part of the 148 experience, and are all complimentary.

Opened just in time for New York Fashion Week, the location is also being used as an event space for key styling events and charitable initiatives hosted by Dan Lawson, Brand Ambassador and Costume Designer for CBS’s “The Good Wife” and “BrainDead,” and a variety of fashion influencers. The Soho Concept Store, the company’s first location, is located just 2 blocks away on the 8th floor of 148 Lafayette Street, is by appointment and offers special sizes and cuts.

This years also marks the 20th anniversary of the women’s fashion company, which was celebrated with the introduction of The Iconic Collection (8 signature pieces redefined for today), and a six-part documentary series telling the brand story, and a special edition magalog. In addition to window take-overs and a new in-shop store at Saks Fifth Avenue, limited edition handbag styles, and capsule collection for key retail partners, the company’s CEO and Co-Founder, Deirdre Quinn, also received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award this summer. Lafayette 148 New York’s 3rd US store is set to open later this fall in Miami’s Brickell district.
