England Netball recently announced the growth in numbers of people playing netball had risen to over 156,000 people across the UK.  Social leagues such as Netbusters believe they are aiding the growth of this sport especially during the summer months.

Netbusters was set up in 2008 by Jamie Mascaro, after he realised that there was a requirement for hassle-free, professionally run netball leagues for busy Londoners to take part in.  The company runs social netball leagues across London providing everything you need for your weekly netball game. Members of the public choose the location to play, enter the team of seven players and pay online.

Jamie Mascaro, Founder of Netbusters, says: “Netball is the fastest growing female sport in the UK. Our leagues offer Londoners the chance to get away from the stresses of everyday working life and enjoy a game with friends and colleagues.”

The leagues run during the week in the evenings and last on average 10 weeks. There are no subscription fees or memberships, you just pay and play. Players choose the day and location that suits them best and turn up each week for a match. The umpires are friendly and often provide coaching tips to the teams to help them improve.

“We know that England Netball often see a drop in participation rates over the summer, however we try to take advantage of Londoners wanting to get fit and healthy for the summer and with a number of outdoor netball leagues to offer we really try to promote fun exercise. With England Netball’s high hopes for success in this summer’s Commonwealth Games, we hope it will inspire more Londoners to get back on the netball court,” says Louise Cook, League Manager at Netbusters.

Netbusters have no joining fees, affiliation fees or any other hidden costs and to play you just pay a deposit and match fees start from £8 per week per player.
