Large-scale pipe rehabilitation project for Lemminkäinen at Vuosaari, Helsinki

LARGE-SCALE PIPE REHABILITATION PROJECT FOR LEMMINKÄINEN AT VUOSAARI, HELSINKI
Lemminkäinen will carry out the modernisation of 483 apartments for the housing
company As Oy Lokkisaarentie in the Vuosaari district of Helsinki. The total
value of the pipe rehabilitation contract is approximately EUR 10 million (VAT
0 %). The housing company, completed in 1965, comprises 14 three to five-storey
apartment blocks. In total, the buildings have 41 stairwells and 483
apartments.
The rehabilitation contract includes the modernisation of the water and sewage
lines and the ventilation and electrical systems as well as all building work
required in the bathrooms, such as demolition, tiling, outfitting and
installing fixtures. In addition, nine saunas will be renovated.
Activities on-site at Vuosaari will begin in December 2011. The project as a
whole will be completed by the end of 2013.

In recent years, Lemminkäinen has carried out large-scale pipe rehabilitation
projects at Vuosaari. With the Lokkisaarentie contract, the number of
apartments modernised by Lemminkäinen in the Vuosaari area will exceed 1,300.
