Press release 26/10/2015

The Air Navigation Services Provider of Sweden (LFV) is very interested in the Norwegian market for local air traffic services. Therefore, LFV established a Norwegian company, LFV Norway A/S, during the autumn.
“At a time when the Norwegian market for local air traffic services is being deregulated, LFV wants to be a presence. By establishing a company, we are showing that our investment in Norway is serious, which will facilitates our entry into the Norwegian market,” says Niclas Gustavsson, Director of Business Development at LFV.

At a time when the Norwegian market is opening up after the Ministry of Transport and Communications' decision to establish a timetable for deregulation, LFV will become an important presence that can contribute to the development of airports' competitiveness and capacity.

LFV has operated abroad for over 30 years and in around 50 different countries. With their high levels of operational and technical skills, LFV has contributed to developing other countries' airspace and to creating sustainable flight conditions. This work goes on continuously, while LFV has expanded its range of services internationally by also providing air traffic services.
“Since 2003, LFV is present at five airports in the United Arab Emirates, where we are responsible for the operational management. The largest airport is Abu Dhabi International Airport, which is currently is big as Oslo Airport and growing rapidly. There, due to our extensive experience of airspace issues and route constructions, LFC has contributed to increasing the landing capacity, which is a valued and welcomed contribution to a rapidly growing airport,” says Niclas Gustavsson, Director of Business Development at LVF.

LFV currently operates in the competitive Swedish market, which was deregulated in 2010. LFV is present from Kiruna, in the north, to Malmö, in the south, and operates as the local air traffic service supplier at 23 airports.
“LFV is a turnkey supplier of air traffic services. On our own, or alongside our partners, we are confident that we can develop the Norwegian market, says Niclas Gustavsson.

Upon launching the Remote Tower Services on 21 April of this year, LFV has revolutionised the conditions for local air traffic services. Air traffic at Örnsköldsvik Airport is now remotely operated from a centre in Sundsvall, 150 km away.
“It is a technical and operational concept which we consider to be highly interesting for the Norwegian market, which has a large amount of small and remote airports. This solution increases both the flexibility and the security of the airports,” says Niclas Gustavsson.
