Authors Rewarded with Free First Edition Hardcover and Free eBook Conversions

Lulu.com™, the division of Lulu that is the pioneer in independent publishing, today announced that it has partnered again with National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), which is a nonprofit organization responsible for organizing authors in a massive creative writing project and challenging them to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. In support of the vision that guides NaNoWriMo, Lulu.com will be offering each of the expected 400k participants a free first edition hardcover book. Lulu.com will also be rewarding 12 independent authors that participate in the program and are selected at random with free eBook conversion services.

"NaNoWriMo is founded on the belief that everyone has a story to tell, and that everyone's story matters," said Grant Faulkner, executive director of NaNoWriMo. "We exist to help people realize their creative dreams, so we are thrilled to partner with Lulu.com to help engage these burgeoning authors in the month of November and help them share their stories afterward. The world needs more makers and creators.”

Lulu.com is the only self-publishing company in the world that allows you to create hardcover, softcover and eBooks, and distribute them globally. The community of writers on Lulu.com is incredibly engaged and passionate, and the free first edition hardcover is designed to motivate NaNoWriMo participants to publish and be rewarded. To encourage writers to undertake the NaNoWriMo challenge, Lulu.com is also offering a free educational resource, “Author's Guide to Success: A Complete Plan for Publishing and Selling Your Book.”

"Supporting the Wrimos in 2014 is the latest in our ongoing effort to help writers of all levels understand and master the rules of writing and publishing and selling online,” said Tom Bright, CEO and president, Lulu. “We want to empower authors with insights from our writing community while encouraging them to bring their stories to life. We also want to impress in new authors the need to take the time once November ends to continue to polish their work with support from a trusted partner that turns their book into a finished product that will drives sales from readers.”
