Lulu today made self-published photo-rich content more accessible to consumers by introducing new wholesale and volume discount pricing for professional photo books and calendars created using Lulu Studio. With photo books starting at $12.99 and calendars starting at $9.99, the newly introduced pricing allows photographers and other creators of photo-rich products to pass savings on to their customers, thereby increasing both their audience reach and resulting sales opportunities.

“With today’s announcement, Lulu now offers the least expensive professional photo books in the market, and we've done this without compromising quality,” said Shawn Barber, vice president of product management at Lulu. “Our range of photo-rich products allows every photographer to create and sell their work in a way that makes it as appealing as possible to consumers. We heard a clear request from the Lulu community to make photo-rich books and calendars more affordable, and we’ve delivered on the promise in time for our creators to take advantage of the holiday sales rush.”

Lulu is dedicated to providing the best possible self-publishing experience and is leading the evolution of the independent publishing movement. Today’s announcement is the latest in a series of efforts to help authors achieve their goal of publishing and selling their books to as large an audience as possible.

Most recently, Lulu released a free eBook, “Marketing Your Book for Holiday Sales,” which includes tips and tricks from Lulu’s best selling authors to help independent authors make the most of the holiday sales season. Last month, Lulu also made several print book templates available for free and launched four new eBook solutions. More major enhancements to Lulu’s offerings will be introduced ahead of the 2013 winter holiday season.

“We’re constantly speaking with our customers and listening to the market to identify opportunities where we can deliver more value to authors, artists and creators everywhere,” said Barber. “Two of the main reasons people are choosing to self-publish in record numbers are the control they have and the value they can derive. Lulu is leading the charge on both of these fronts by making it as appealing as possible to tell and sell your story, be it in pictures or words.”
