Fix-a-Form helps the nutraceutical sector to reap the benefits of new health remedies

Denny Bros is reporting a sharp increase in the number of companies it is supplying with its Fix-a-Form® multi-page labels in the fast-emerging  nutraceutical sector.  The global industry is currently valued at in excess of £100m and the market is expected to almost double in the UK in the coming years.

It is thought that health stores and supermarkets are stimulating demand in the UK for the growing number of products which are isolated or purified from foods and marketed as alternative medicines to help keep people fit and healthy.  These include herbs, dietary supplements, probiotics, amino acids, botanicals and vitamins.

According to economic sources, the global market is expected to double by 2017.  Says Stephen Jarrold, Sales and Marketing Director at Denny Bros, ‘We are already seeing a raft of new product introductions, and a rise in marketing activity from global nutraceutical companies aimed at the UK and we do anticipate that this will be matched with our own home-grown supply of new and alternative healthcare products.’

‘Nutraceutical products are not subject to the same testing and regulations as pharmaceutical drugs and often need introducing to the user-audience as they are brand

new product concepts. To explain the benefits and instructions for use, and avoid misuse of the products, it is important for manufacturers to give as much information as possible with the product offering.  Multi-page labels are helping to make these products safer to use by highlighting any potential health issues associated with their use, particularly when used in conjunction with other medicines or healthcare products.’

Other products carrying the company’s mutli-page labels include dietary enhancements, herbs, energy drinks and children’s nutritional supplements.

The information given on Nutraceutical products is very similar to the user-information included on mainstream medicines and healthcare products - brand name, dosage, indications, contra-indications, table charts with age guidelines and even pictograms to make the information clear and concise.

Fix-a-Forms® give brand owners the space to include as much information as they need while only taking up the same footprint as a conventional label.  This also allows for user-instructions to be presented in a number of different languages for multimarket distribution.

Anglo-Scandinavian venture Seagreens, recently chose a tamper-evident style multi-page label for their nutrition products.  Setting the standard for seaweed harvesting and production in Europe, the 12-page label has been applied to the lid of the product.  A spokesperson for the company explained why the labelling device helps them to tell a complete story.  ‘First, we need to explain to our customers how they can benefit from nature’s own vegetable garden beneath the sea before we can even begin to detail  what our individual products can do.’

Fix-a-Form® is the UK’s leading brand of multi-page leaflet labels.  It helps brand owners to communicate large amounts of text on-pack including brand benefits, cross promotional marketing material, and multi-lingual information.  Fix-a-Form can also add incentives such as competitions, inserts, vouchers, ‘scratch-off panels’, SMS text promotions, and collectables.  Supplied on reels, they are most typically automated so there is no reduction in line speed or manufacturing output.
