Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Lakewood, NJ

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Dickie Noles, Billy Sample and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) and the Lakewood BlueClaws have partnered to hold a Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic for children with disabilities. Local youth will have the opportunity to play with their big league heroes on Saturday, June 4th, 2016. The free clinic features former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 – 16.

Players attending* include 1980 Philadelphia Phillies World Series champion Dickie Noles and nine-year MLB veteran Billy Sample, as well as Glenn Borgmann, Rob Lukachyk, Oreste Marrero, Al Santorini and Corey Thurman. These seven players combine for 40 seasons, 1,797 games and 1,039 hits in Major League Baseball.

The clinic will take place at FirstEnergy Park, home of the Lakewood BlueClaws, running from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., located at 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, base running and life skills. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the morning will conclude with an autograph session, baseball giveaways and lunch for children in attendance.
