Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Germany

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Frank Catalanotto, Desi Relaford and Todd Haney

Colorado Springs, Colo. – German youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series. The MLBPAA’s first trip to Germany since the Legends for Youth baseball clinic series’ induction will feature former Rangers teammates Frank Catalanotto and Desi Relaford, as well as five-year MLB veteran Todd Haney. Catalanotto spent a 14 years in the majors, playing for the Tigers, Rangers, Blue Jays, Brewers and Mets, primarily as an outfielder. Relaford’s career spanned 11 seasons, becoming one of very few MLB players who has played almost every position, only missing catcher and first base. Haney spent time with the Expos, Cubs and Mets, mainly as a second baseman.* The clinics and autograph sessions will occur from Monday, June 15th through Sunday, June 21st, as listed below.

The clinics will take place across the country at various venues. Clinicians will train at stations including pitching, catching, base running and life skills for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 – 16. The clinics will conclude with an autograph session and baseball giveaways for children in attendance.

Full Clinic Schedule (All times listed in Central European Summer Time):

  • Monday, June 15: Legends for Youth Clinic in Regensburg, Germany held at Die Armin-Wolf-Arena from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 17: Legends for Youth Clinic in Mainz, Germany held at Baseball und Softball Club Mainz Athletics from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, June 19: Legends for Youth Clinic in Stuttgart, Germany held at DB-Baseballpark from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 21: Legends for Youth Clinic in Bonn, Germany held at Bonn Capitals Baseball from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
