Specialist manufacturing and engineering recruitment consultancy, Jonathan Lee Recruitment, sponsors Made in the Midlands’ annual Manufacturing Achievement Awards.

Manufacturing leaders from across the Midlands recently gathered at the Wolverhampton Science Park to celebrate industry excellence at the 2014 Made in the Midlands Manufacturing Achievement Awards. Now in its sixth year, the awards provide recognition for investment, innovation, growth, export and diversity among manufacturing firms in the Midlands region.

Collectively, the 12 recipients of the main Manufacturing Achievement Awards have won more than £10m of new business so far this year and invested more than £3m in equipment, processes and people. This year the judges were presented with a record-level entry. Aldridge-based Chemique Adhesive & Sealants Ltd took the top award, with Redditch-based A E Oscroft & Sons securing the runner-up position. The bronze award went to Salop Design & Engineering Ltd, which was presented by Jonathan Lee, founder and Chairman of Jonathan Lee Recruitment. The recruitment firm has sponsored the awards since 2009 and is the organisation’s preferred partner for manufacturing and engineering recruitment.

“We are proud to be long-standing partners and patron sponsors to Made in the Midlands, and fully support their prestigious manufacturing awards,” says Jonathan Lee. “Jonathan Lee Recruitment has been placing candidates with manufacturing businesses across the Midlands for more than 35 years, so recognises the depth of talent and expertise concentrated in the region. The aligned belief, passion and ethos Made in the Midlands and Jonathan Lee Recruitment share reinforces the ongoing support for craftsmanship in the region and the annual awards are the perfect platform for industry leaders to come together and celebrate innovative local achievements.”

Chief operating officer of Made in the Midlands, Charles Addison, commented: “Manufacturers in this region are doing amazing things that they simply regard as a normal days work and it is our duty to ensure that they are recognised. Their stories demonstrate that the Midlands remains a crucial link in manufacturing excellence, of which we are very proud.”
