MAVERICK named one of the country’s best workplaces for flexibility
The Fortune magazine list includes the top 50 employers that support work-life balance
COLUMBIA, Ill. (May 4, 2016) — Fortune magazine and the Great Place to Work organization recently ranked MAVERICK Technologies among the country's “50 Best Workplaces for Flexibility.” The list was compiled by Fortune and Great Place to Work, following their analysis of more than 500 companies of different sizes, across a range of industries. MAVERICK made the list because of their numerous flexible workplace policies, including a phased retirement program and compressed workweek options.
MAVERICK leadership has observed that a supportive workplace results in a better experience for employees and customers alike, but creating an environment where people can easily balance their home lives with their careers can be particularly challenging.
“We know our people are our greatest asset,” said Paul Galeski, CEO and founder of MAVERICK, “so we’ve created a company culture that gives our employees the freedom and flexibility to succeed. Our phased retirement program, telecommuting options, overtime and comp time policies, and compressed workweeks ensure that our team can be engaged and fulfilled, both on the job and in their personal lives.”
MAVERICK and the other winning companies were selected based on responses to the Trust Index, Great Place to Work’s employee assessment survey, as well as an analysis of respondents' anonymous comments. Survey questions assessed employees' feelings on work-life balance, in addition to factors like communication, fairness and leadership that affect employees' ability to accommodate their personal lives without compromising their careers. Fortune and Great Place to Work also considered the range of flexible workplace programs offered at each organization, and the frequency of their use.
“Creating career flexibility isn't as simple as giving people time off or the chance to adjust their schedules to meet demands at home," said Kim Peters, executive vice president of Great Place to Work. “MAVERICK has made a real investment in a credible, trusting culture that helps employees achieve their goals both inside and outside the workplace.”
