THE NATIONAL BLACK MBA ASSOCIATION (NBMBAA®) PARTNERS WITH CHRYSLER TO HOST 2011 NATIONAL BLACK MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT
CHICAGO (December 8, 2011) – Business executives, celebrities and other guests broke out their golf clubs and their A-games to benefit a worthy cause at the 2011 National Black Masters Golf Tournament which took place in Atlanta during the NBMBAA®33rdAnnual Conference & Exposition. Held at the world--class Chateau Elan, the National Black Masters Golf Tournament was created to support the National Black MBA Association Leaders of Tomorrow® (LOT) program, an academic enrichment and leadership program that provides high school students with firsthand experience of the inner workings of corporate and non-profit businesses, while gaining business-focused academic guidance and invaluable career mentoring.
Each year, in conjunction with the NBMBAA National Conference and Exposition, hundreds of students and mentors from around the world meet for a once-a-year experience and together learn advanced skills in academic achievement, networking, and leadership. Through interaction with the highest-level trainers and corporate executives, students are given a glimpse of how top performers reach their goals that few high school students ever have access to.
“NBMBAA is extremely proud of our Leaders of Tomorrow program. For more than 20 years, the NBMBAA, its partners and volunteer mentors have invested more than a million dollars in scholarship awards and thousands of hours in programming support to ensure that the most promising high school students will excel in college and ultimately become our next generation of leaders,” said NBMBAA President and CEO Kimberly Corbin. She continued, “We are extremely grateful to our corporate partner Chrysler for helping us host this awesome event and continue our efforts to provide bright futures for our LOT students.”
Presented by Chrysler, the Black Masters Golf Tournament enabled participants to challenge their skills by competing on one of two 18---hole championship golf courses, The Chateau Elan and The Woodlands, for prizes and bragging rights following a “four-person scramble” and “Individual Stroke Play”. A reception was held immediately following the tournament to award prizes to the winning foursome, individual champion and longest drive.

About Leaders of Tomorrow®
Founded in 1991 at the 13th Annual National Black MBA Association Conference and Exposition in New York, Leaders of Tomorrow® (LOT) is an academic enrichment and leadership program serving high school students who demonstrate leadership potential. The LOT program currently serves young adults, ages 14 – 18, in 33 chapters throughout the United States and Canada, along with a contingency in London. Through local and national programming, LOT students are provided an opportunity to develop their leadership, academic and personal skills through specialized curriculum that focuses on mentoring, cultural exposure, experiential learning and college preparation. Our purpose is to prepare students for college and support their successful transition into adulthood. LOT initiatives include local programming, an annual Leadership Camp, LOT Case Competition, LOT Conference and local and national scholarships.
