Metsä Board Corporation Press release 21 November 2013

Metsä Board is celebrating 60 years successful trading in China in November 2013, on the anniversary of its first sales representative being appointed in Beijing in 1953. The first exports were made as early as the 1920’s. The company now has two sales offices in China: in Hong Kong, opened 1986, and Shanghai, opened 2001.

“China is an important market for us so we are delighted to be marking this anniversary together with our customers and partners there,” says Mikko Helander, CEO of Metsä Board. “We anticipate increasing sales of both folding boxboards and linerboards in China, as well as in other countries in the APAC region.”

The cornerstones of Metsä Board’s success are high quality fresh forest fibre paperboards, fibre know-how and pulp self-sufficiency. Sustainability is at the heart of all its operations.
