Botnia has complied with OECD guidelines in its pulp mill project in Uruguay

The Finnish National Contact Point under the Ministry of Trade and Industry has
today given its statement regarding the application submitted by the
Argentinean non-governmental or-ganisation CEDHA (Center for Human Rights and
Environment) in April 2006. 

In its decision, Finland's National Point of Contact considers that Botnia
S.A./Oy Metsä-Botnia Ab has acted in compliance with the OECD guidelines for
multinational enterprises in the pulp mill project in Uruguay and that the
Specific Instance submitted by CEDHA requires no further action in Finland. 

Additionally, it is stated that economic benefits of the project are
significant and in managing environmental impacts the project complies with
strict international criteria.
