Metsäliitto Wood Products Industry has signed contract of divestment of the
machinery and equipment of the Soinlahti sawmill to Anaika Wood Ltd Oy, and of
the divestment of the buildings and soil included in the sawmill to Iisalmen
Teollisuuskylä Oy.
Soinlahti sawmill in Iisalmi was shut down at the beginning of 2009. So far most
of the production, mainly spruce sawn timber, was delivered to the domestic
market and to Metsäliitto Wood Products Industry's own upgrading. Anaika Woods
intends to saw in Soinlahti raw material for components directed to Japan market
those will be processed in the company's other production plants.

The contract also includes a long-term wood acquisition contract between
Metsäliitto Wood Supply and Anaika Wood. In the region, Metsäliitto does not
have any production plants that utilize logs, which means that the contract will
make Metsäliitto's operations more effective and will increase its members'
timber use opportunities in the region.
