Aspray24 has renewed its EFFITIRES™ contract with Michelin solutions, trusting the comprehensive tyre management programme to “help deliver on the promise our name suggests” – faultless, next-day delivery.

The price-per-kilometre deal covers 100 per cent of the company’s 363-strong all-DAF truck fleet which is in operation around the clock, delivering cargoes of all shapes and sizes from its 14 depots nationwide.

Ian Barclay, Group Operations Director at Aspray24, says: “Working with Michelin solutions isn’t a typical supplier/customer relationship – the company has taken the time to understand the ‘ins and outs’ of our business, and supplies a tyre management package perfectly tailored to our needs as a result.

“We even use the fact that we fit Michelin, and work so closely with Michelin solutions’ ‘embedded’ account management team, as a selling point – we’ve invested in the best in premium tyres, so we can deliver the best in next-day delivery services.”

A large proportion of the firm’s work revolves around delivering door locks, nuts, bolts and fasteners, often to tricky locations such as building sites, where loose surfaces and construction waste are a constant concern.

Barclay adds: “We’ve always known Michelin tyres are the premium product, and offer great value over time – especially when you’re running such a busy fleet as ours.

“We deliver 14,000 consignments every day, and it’s testament to our tyres’ abilities that in the five-plus years we’ve been fitting Michelin, we haven’t suffered a single tyre failure on the road that wasn’t caused by an external factor. Plus we’ve gained increased control and clarity on our tyre budget through the EFFITIRES™ programme.”

ATS Euromaster will continue to see to Aspray24’s tyre needs, fitting the company’s trucks with Michelin X MultiWay 3D XDE and XZE tyres – the manufacturer’s latest-generation regional tyre series, which offers a strong blend of fuel efficiency and mileage performance, plus an improved resistance to accidental shoulder damage.

The company’s trailers benefit from Michelin’s X Multi T tyres, while the Mercedes-Benz Sprinters will continue to roll on Michelin’s robust and reliable Agilis + van tyres.

Signing up to the EFFITIRES™ solution provides Aspray24 with the services of a dedicated team of auditors, technicians and business support personnel, to ensure its tyres are serviced to the highest possible standards. The programme also offers a predictable tyre budget linked to fleet activity.

Michelin solutions will also carry out fleet‐wide tyre safety inspections and develop a shared action plan to ensure harmonised operations – cutting complexity while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and peace of mind.

As well as its core next-day delivery operations, Willenhall-headquartered Aspray24 also offers racked and bulk storage, as well as international import and export services through a worldwide network of partner companies.
