Mitsubishi Electric Uses Show To Highlight Renewable Heating

Mitsubishi Electric is using Building Services – The CIBSE Conference and Exhibition 2012 (10-11 October, London Olympia) to highlight its line-up of advanced renewable heating systems which can help to reduce both emissions and running costs.
The company’s stand (E60) will provide details on the Ecodan® range of air and ground source heat pumps which can deliver renewable heating for both new-build and retro-fit properties in the commercial and residential sectors.
Ecodan is increasingly being used and specified in commercial properties such as schools, showrooms and office developments that need to demonstrate an effective level of renewable heating. In the domestic sector, the residential models have led the market for the past four years and have been installed in thousands of homes across the country, including a 13-storey tower block in Glasgow.
“Heating accounts for over half the energy used in the UK’s buildings, so it is an area where real improvement in energy consumption can be achieved,” explains Graham Temple, Marketing Communications Manager for the company’s Heating Systems Division.
“Adding an Ecodan or using it to replace an existing heating system can help buildings achieve renewable energy targets and help meet building regulations such as Part L and the Code for Sustainable Homes.”
On display at the show will be the flagship CAHV-P500YA-HPB Ecodan monobloc water and space heating system which is fully scalable from 43kW up to 688kW.
The factory-sealed unit allows for straightforward installation without the need for any refrigeration work on site. Built-in weather compensation enables better control and increases the efficiency to deliver year-round high performance.
For the domestic sector, Ecodan comes in 5kW, 8.5kW and 14kW models, with the entire range of systems fully scalable, making them ideal for both individual properties and phased or larger projects.
Ecodan can operate effectively with outdoor temperatures as low as -20°C and in addition to helping new-builds achieve planning permission, the range can be retro-fitted to existing buildings, and will work independently or alongside other heating systems.
“We have designed this range of heating products so that it can allow the majority of buildings to achieve renewable energy targets with more ease, reliability and flexibility than any other technology,” ends Temple.
