NCC has been commissioned to conduct extensive infrastructure work for the Markbygden ETT wind farm in Piteå. The contract value is approximately SEK 800 million.

NCC’s assignment includes constructing a total of 130 kilometers of roads in the area, building crane pads, providing the wind farm with concrete foundations for each wind turbine and laying cable between the wind power plants.

“NCC’s assignment is on a large scale in several respects, given the size of the wind farm. It requires construction practices that pay close attention to the environment and to surrounding areas, which is experience we have gained from a long tradition of building wind farms,” says Nils Bjelm, Division Manager at Civil Engineering, NCC Infrastructure.

NCC began work in June 2017 and most of its work is scheduled to be complete in late 2018. The contract value of about SEK 800 million will be registered in the Infrastructure business area in the fourth quarter of 2017.
