New solution encompasses VideoIPath network management and nSure monitoring

IBC2014, Sandefjord, Norway, 28 August 2014Nevion, a leader in transporting media from the camera to the home, is debuting at IBC2014 (booth 1.B71) a new easy-to-use and powerful media network monitoring solution that even non-expert users can operate. The solution is designed to simplify day-to-day operations, monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), as well as rapidly identify and resolve the root-causes of any issues in the network. This means potential service-affecting issues can be proactively addressed before they escalate, thereby saving the costs associated with the loss of signals.

The new integrated solution incorporates Nevion’s award-winning VideoIPath network management software with trusted network monitoring probes from the nSure product family, including the flagship TNS4200 solution. It offers complete end-to-end monitoring without the need for costly and time-consuming integration. The system can also collect monitoring data from other equipment, whether from Nevion or third parties, that are part of the transport chain.

Through an intuitive and customisable GUI, VideoIPath provides an aggregated overview of the availability and the performance of the services across a network, particularly at the vulnerable hand-over points between different networks and provider/customer, with the ability to deep-dive into specific equipment to identify the origin of the issue and quickly resolve it. Network operators and service providers can easily track and document the performance of their network and services.

"We want to remove the limitations to transporting professional quality content in real time over any type of network,” said Janne T. Morstøl, chief product and development officer, Nevion. “Providing an intuitive overview of the performance of a media network, and reacting quickly to resolve network issues, is a key part of that objective. This solution is flexible so it can be tailored to each user’s requirements, and most importantly, it delivers professional monitoring capabilities at the fingertips of non-expert users.”

Thanks to the flexibility of the solution, satellite, terrestrial, cable, IPTV and contribution network operators now have a turnkey solution to monitor their infrastructure.

Aggregated network monitoring will be one of the featured demonstrations from Nevion at IBC2014, booth 1.B71.
