Classics race away at Silverstone sale

A rare 1968 barn find Maserati Ghibli selling for a stunning £31,625, more than double its pre-sale estimate, was just one of 38 amazing cars to find new homes at the Silverstone Auctions hosted, International Trophy Sale.

In total, 62 percent of the 61 lots were successfully hammered away for a premium inclusive total of more than £900,000.

Last Longbridge Mini up for sale

A salvaged Mini Clubman that lay in the tunnels under the Longbridge factory for 30 years – making it the last Mini to leave the famous site – is being auctioned at the Silverstone Classic Sale.

The iconic car – which was used to travel around the sprawling plant - had been secretly dumped by workers in the late 1970s after suffering some damage thought to be from a storage container falling on it.
