Very Happy Birthday at Blackpool Zoo!

Blackpool Zoo is hailing its 40thanniversary year as its busiest yet with visitor numbers, revenue, internet sales and school visits all hitting all-time highs!

Visitor numbers are up one per cent on the previous year, revenue saw a four cent hike, internet sales were boosted by 16 per cent and 12 per cent more schools came through the doors of the award winning attraction.

KME YORKSHIRE ANNOUNCE SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT

Copper tube specialist KME Yorkshire has announced significant investment in a state-of-the-art heating system that will save money and reduce the carbon footprint of its UK manufacturing plant.

The £160K system will increase heating efficiency by a minimum of 30 per cent, reduce energy bills at the Kirkby based copper tube factory by more than £40k per year and decrease C02 by 335t.

Blackpool Zoo’s family of orang-utans are getting ready for an extended holiday as the award winning attraction gears up for a £600,000 investment in their home.

VERY SPECIAL BOY BORN IN A STABLE

There is a truly festive feel in the air at Blackpool Zoo after the birth of a very special boy in one of its stables.

BABY GORILLA IS EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR BLACKPOOL ZOO

Christmas has come early for Blackpool Zoo following the birth of a critically endangered Western Lowland Gorilla.

Njema, who is 19, gave birth to a healthy baby in the early hours of November 8th following a natural and uncomplicated labour.
