NEXT Biometrics Sensors certified by Microsoft
22 August, 2014
NEXT Biometrics has become the third player in the world mass market of area fingerprint sensors for integration in PCs and Tablets to be certified by Microsoft.
Also, NEXT Biometrics is the first area sensor provider with Microsoft Certification that meets the price level required by PCs and Tablet industry buyers without compromising sensor system quality by reducing sensor size.
Microsoft will now download NEXT drivers to its vast base of Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 PC’s and Tablets around the world and NEXT sensor modules will integrate with Windows in a way that automatically allows NEXT sensors to replace user passwords and pin-codes.
Tore Etholm-Idsøe, CEO NEXT Biometrics comments: “We are very pleased to receive this key certification from Microsoft. Our technology is now perfectly positioned to become dominant in the 500+ million unit PC and Tablet market segments. Being able to meet the price requirements of PC and Tablet industry buyers, to please their design teams and to do so without sacrificing either user convenience or security levels is key to long-term success. Our team in Seattle is based 10 minutes from Microsoft headquarters and we anticipate projects with a long range of Windows-based devices going forward.“
