Arcus has signed an agreement with Strandgaarden Wine & Spirits A/S for the acquisition of the popular Hot n’Sweet brand.

Hot n’Sweet was launched in 1993, and immediately became Denmark’s best-selling vodka shot. Today the brand is sold in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Nordic duty-free stores. Yearly net sales amount to ca 21 MDKK.

The acquisition of Hot n’Sweet is in line with Arcus’ strategy of acquiring bolt-on brands that exploits Arcus’ sales organisations and available production capacity.

-The Hot n’Sweet acquisition will bring profitable growth to Arcus’ spirits portfolio, says Kenneth Hamnes, CEO of Arcus ASA. -Hot n’Sweet has further sales potential in Denmark, backed by Det Danske Spiritus Kompagni A/S. The acquisition will also strengthen our on-trade position in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and the overall portfolio in our core markets.

Niels Wendelboe Jensen, chairman of Strandgaarden Wine & Spirits, has headed the success.

–Arcus, with its solid market insight, will now take Hot n’Sweet to the next level, says Wendelboe Jensen.

The acquisition will be effective as of 31 December 2017. Production of the Hot n’Sweet portfolio will from February 2018 be done at Arcus’ facility at Gjelleråsen.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
