The tender results of two public transport contracts in the Greater Stockholm area have now been announced. The decision made by the client, the public transport authority in Stockholm, SL, entails that Nobina Sverige will discontinue operations in Nacka-Värmdö and Huddinge-Botkyrka in August 2011.

The service contracts comprise a total of about 330 buses and concern about 1,100 individuals in the Nobina Group. Within SL, operational takeover applies, which means that employees are offered employment with new operators.

“Nobina participates in numerous tender processes each year, but is naturally disappointed by the decision made by SL pertaining to the service contracts in the Greater Stockholm area. Our assessment is that our tenders were highly competitive, both in terms of price levels and quality. We will continue to strive to develop public transport in the Nordic region and look forward to upcoming tender results this year,” says Ragnar Norbäck, President and CEO of Nobina AB.
