Nordstjernan has acquired af Chapman’s collection of Chinese gouaches

Nordstjernan has purchased 96 gouaches from af Chapman’s collection that has been housed at Skärva Manor in Karlskrona, from the Uppsala Auction House (series 236), www.uppsalaauktion.se. The transaction was finalized on December 3, 2014 at a purchase price of SEK 2.6 million.

“We are pleased that this unique collection of watercolors from the 18thcentury will now remain in Sweden. The collection will be placed at the Engelsberg Ironworks, World Heritage site in Västmanland County, which has been owned by Nordstjernan since 1916,” says the Chairman of the Board of Nordstjernan, Viveca Ax:son Johnson.
