NAPA Anesthesiologists Seth Landa and Pam Upadya to Present at IARS 2016 Annual Meeting in San Francisco

North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) announced today that two of its leading, board certified anesthesiologists, Seth Landa, MD and Pam Upadya, MD have been selected to be featured presenters at the International Anesthesia Research Society’s (IARS) 2016 Annual Meeting and International Science Symposium. The event is taking place May 21-24, 2016 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square in San Francisco, CA.

Recognized as one of the eight “Best of Meeting Nominees,” Dr. Landa’s work was selected from over 725 abstract submissions for an abstract titled “Ketorolac Prevents Nausea and Vomiting Related to Exteriorization during Cesarean Section: A Randomized, Controlled Double-blinded Study.” He will be presenting his abstract as a poster presentation in front of a panel of judges to compete for top honors in two categories: Best Abstract Presentation in Patient-Oriented Research and Best Abstract Presentation in Basic Science Research. In addition to his role with NAPA, Dr. Landa serves as the Associate Anesthesia Chairman and Director, Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.

Dr. Pam Upadya, MD and anesthesia resident Dr. Tripali Kundu had two abstracts accepted as poster presentations: “Satisfaction of Anesthesia Providers with Current Practices of Transitions of Care" and “A Quality Improvement Initiative: Develop a Standardized Hand-off Protocol for Utilization amongst Anesthesia Providers to Enhance Intraoperative Communication.”  Along with her responsibilities as a member of the NAPA organization, Dr. Upadya holds positions as Associate Director for the Anesthesia Residency Program and the Director of the Simulation Training Laboratory at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. 

This year’s IARS event will highlight 1,000 of the world’s leading anesthesia educators and researchers in an invigorating program, featuring 24 Review Course Lectures, over 35 Panels focused on cutting-edge topics in subspecialty fields, 22 problem-based learning discussions with challenging case-based scenarios, interactive ultrasound workshops, education symposia and more.
