He is no stranger to grand exits, and next Friday (29 August) he will be hosting the last of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Story Trains for the summer when passengers step aboard the Hogwarts Story Train accompanied by the former headmaster of Hogwarts himself, Albus Dumbledore.

Dumbledore will be joined by prefects and students from Hogwarts for the story train, which gives families an extra-entertaining trip through the North York Moors national park, with fun and games along the way!  The train departs Pickering at 10.00am, heading straight up to Goathland, where passengers disembark to explore the village, have a picnic and play some games.  The story train starts its return journey at 12.50pm, with a stop at Levisham for some trackside fun and maybe a little magic, before returning to Pickering’s platform 1 ¾ at around 2.40pm.

“This is our last Story Train of the summer, so we wanted to make sure we go out on a real high – and you can’t get higher than Hogwarts’ most famous head master,” comments Danielle Ramsey, marketing manager for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.  “We’ll be giving prizes for the best costume, too, so passengers are welcome to turn up as any character from the Harry Potter stories, from the young wizard himself to a chocolate frog!”

Tickets for the Story Trains are £20.50 for adults, £17.50 for seniors or £10.50 for children.  A family ticket – covering two adults and up to four children – is just £45.00.  Pre-booking is strongly recommended, as places are limited.
