500+ closings in 2015, leading her own team, and a cancer survivor

Tampa, FL (April 1, 2016) – Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate’s Christina Griffin of the company’s South Tampa office has a lot to celebrate.  Last week, Griffin was awarded the Society of Excellence designation, the highest award level bestowed upon sales associates and teams affiliated with NRT LLC, the largest residential real estate brokerage in the country. She was also recently named the #2 team in the nation in unit sales by NRT, parent company of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate and the largest brokerage in the country. Griffin heads up The Griffin Group, her own 16-member team, a far cry from her start in real estate just 14 years ago.

“My team members are incredible,” said Christina Griffin of the Griffin Team, South Tampa, Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate.  “They each have unique strengths and are so driven to continually improve the team. It’s a great dynamic.”

In 2014, Griffin attended Tom Ferry’s Blueprint conference in Orlando and it provided her with the confidence and the drive to push her real estate career to exceptional levels. Soon after the conference, Griffin began networking to form her own top-producing team. In just one year, Griffin assembled a 16-member team, one of the most bilingual and diverse teams in the Tampa region. In their first year, The Griffin Group closed 506 units.1

Griffin is on the upswing of success in her real estate career, but she struggled in her personal life to get here. In 2013 she was diagnosed with uterine cancer. While undergoing treatment at Moffit Cancer center, she was told her ability to conceive a child was highly unlikely. Griffin had a scheduled hysterectomy, but found out she was pregnant a few weeks before the planned surgery.  Throughout the pregnancy, Griffin focused on her work and sold over 200 properties. The good news continued and after her son was born, Griffin was told by her doctors that the cancer was miraculously gone.

“The cancer empowered me. I learned to pick up and keep moving,” said Griffin. “I want people to know that even if you’re faced with what seems like an impossible challenge, you can make it through. I had so much support, both within my family and at work, and now I hope to pass on that encouragement to anyone else facing a similar situation.”

Griffin’s son is a healthy 15-month old and The Griffin Group is thriving. By the end of 2016, she hopes to grow her team to 25 members, and eventually hit 40 members in total.
