On 14-16 February, leading representatives of the electrical industry will gather to discuss, among other things, how to provide innovative energy solutions. Nynas is organising a specialist seminar in connection with this gathering.

Middle East Electricity (MEE) is the biggest power and energy exhibition in the region, hosted by the UAE Ministry of Energy. Over three days, representatives of more than one thousand companies, both transformer manufacturers and power generation companies, will meet at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre to take part in a programme covering the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, the renewable and nuclear energy sectors and the lighting industry.

Nynas has been taking part in MEE since 2004. We will be there this year too with a stand – number 5A29 – at which visitors can meet our technical experts and sales executives for individual in-depth discussions. “MEE is an important meeting place for us. As well as meeting a lot of existing and potential customers under one roof, we can learn about new projects and understand their needs. This gives us a better awareness of the challenges the industry is facing and how we can work towards a possible solution,” says Karuna Sadasivam, General Manager Nynas Middle East.

In view of the importance of MEE to the industry, Nynas will also be organising a seminar in connection with the exhibition. The seminar is aimed at electrical engineers, buyers and asset managers who are involved in power transformer management within the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA).

“Among other things, we’ll be highlighting the history of Nynas and the background to the use of mineral oil in transformers, as well as touching on the context in which mineral oil is used in transformers in the first place. Subjects that will be covered are requirements surrounding insulating oils, specifications, maintenance, interpretation and transformer condition monitoring,” says Carl Wolmarans, who will be taking part in the seminar on Nynas’ behalf together with Dr Bruce Pahlavanpour and Karuna Sadasivam.
