OBDUCAT BOARD POSTPONE PROPOSAL RE SHARE ISSUE AUTHORIZATION - EXTRA GENERAL MEETING AUGUST 17 CANCELLED

Report this content

The Obducat board of directors has decided to cancel the Extra General Meeting scheduled for August 17. It was proposed to authorize the Board to decide to issue a maximum of 125 million B shares with the purpose to enable the execution of one or more directed share issues, as well as to enable acquisitions. The targeted resources have been deemed necessary in order to secure the desired further expansion of the company as well as to maintain its market leader position.

Following partly sizeable criticism – among other from the Swedish Shareholders' Association – the board has decided to withdraw its proposal. As an immediate consequence, the scheduled August 17 Extra General meeting has been cancelled.

“The board has closely followed the recent discussions. Obviously, it’s in the best interest of the company that substantial decisions – such as the current share issue proposal – can be adopted with a visible support also from minor shareholders. Consequently, the board will now revisit the share issue authorization proposal as well as the structuring of further funding. However, it is the unchanged opinion of the board that Obducat faces a new demand for even higher pace, expanded project capacity and key market local presence. Increased resources are needed to maintain our present position and expand for the future”, says Peter Jonsson, Chairman of the Obducat Board of Directors.
