Wonder Bokeh” Lens Could Be Available by December

Meyer-Optik-Goerlitz announced today that the modern version of its legendary Primpolan 75mm f/1.9 art lens is now available for pre-order on its website.

Serial production of the Primoplan 75 is beginning, with the lens expected to start shipping in December in time for the holiday season.

A very limited amount of  the first lenses out of production will go to fulfill pledges for Meyer-Optik’s current Kickstarter campaign, which allows backers to package the Primpolan 75 with the Primoplan 58/f1.9 for $1,599, which is more than 50 percent off what it will cost to buy the lenses at retail value. The limited offer will never be made again and is exclusive to its backers, the company says.

Meyer-Optik’s Kickstarter, which has raised more than $700,00 in pledges, ends Oct. 12.

The Primoplan 75, last produced in the 1950s, maintain the classic sharpness and versatile bokeh that vintage enthusiasts love while incorporating modern technological advances for today’s DSLRs and mirrorless cameras. The lens, hand-crafted and made in Germany, is available in all major mounts.
