OKI Data Americas Printing Technology Powers New On-Demand Keg Collar Printing Solution to be Demonstrated by Neopost at BrewExpo Americas
Brewers Save Time, Money Bringing Full Color Digital Printing Capabilities In-House
Mt. Laurel, NJ (May 4, 2016) – OKI Data Americas – together with its strategic partner Neopost USA – announces availability of a new and state-of-the-art printing solution for craft brewers. This solution bundles the HD-CX1700 digital production printer powered by OKI Data’s award-winning color printing technology with pre-die-cut media for the two most common sizes of keg collars (5-inch and 6.5-inch) to deliver a robust solution for producing keg collars quickly, easily and cost-effectively at the brewery plant.
What makes the device of even greater value is its unique media handling capabilities plus the ability to print white and clear in addition to full-color. These capabilities enable craft brewers to not only produce keg collars, but envelopes, transpromotional items, and tasting room materials and menus on-demand – allowing for seasonality, quick changes and customization. All will be demonstrated at the BrewExpo America tradeshow taking place May 4-6, 2016 at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA, in the Neopost booth (#4206).
Research found that keg collars sourced by craft brewers were costly and limited the brewers’ flexibility to print on-demand keg collars which are required by law for product shipments from the brewery. Thanks to the HD-CX1600 four-color and HD-CX1700 five-color digital production printers offered by Neopost and powered by OKI Data color printing technology, craft brewers now have options to print keg collars in-house to reduce costs and expand print-on-demand capabilities.
These powerful devices, with their small footprint, ease of use and low total cost of ownership, are perfect for the advertising, graphic arts and design applications, delivering color consistency and color matching accuracy. High-impact output is generated at a low cost per page, especially at higher volumes, but the fast and flexible HD-CX Series devices can produce virtually any number of printed pieces – whether one or thousands. With their expansive media handling plus white and clear printing capabilities on the HD-CX1700, these printers feature cutting-edge and production-quality output that few other devices in the marketplace can – particularly at their price-point.
“The craft brewing industry is growing rapidly and will be a key market for our print technology through our strategic partnership program with Neopost,” said Dan Murphy, Senior Vice President of Marketing for OKI Data Americas. “As this market expands and matures, more brewers are seeking new ways to increase branding and customer engagement without breaking the bank.”
Murphy continued, “The HD-CX1700 digital production printer powered by OKI Data LED color printing technology is a great example. The device is easy to use and generates high-quality, high-value output quickly and cost-effectively for craft brewers while minimizing waste and wait times.”
According to William Longua, Senior Director of the Digital Print Group for Neopost USA, “Neopost’s superior digital printing solutions perfectly address the needs of the craft brewing industry. Our original keg collar printing solution gives brewers the power to print custom output on-demand, in full color. That control saves time, saves money and produces high-impact marketing output with ease.”
The HD-CX1600 and HD-CX1700 color printing solutions feature Single Pass Color™ as well as OKI’s proprietary digital LED and HD Color technologies. These technologies allow devices to require fewer moving parts for increased reliability and outstanding color output quality.
