Magnus Nygren won Paf Poker Challenge 2012

This weekend Paf Poker Challenge (PPC) was played in Mariehamn, Åland. 196 participated in the main event. After three days of poker playing the last man standing was Magnus Nygren from Sweden who won 34.000 euro

PPC 2012 is Paf´s biggest tournament ever. The tournament has never before attracted as many as 196 players, and above that a record number of women participated in the tournament. 14 % of the players in the main event were women. There were five women among the last 22 players but no one made it to the final table of nine players.

One of the side events during PPC was woman-only event.

“The most important thing when we arrange an event is the experience we give our players. We are very satisfied with the weekend and so, it seems, are the players. And therefore that we are proud of what we have achieved,” says Paf´s poker manager Arvid Klingström.

The winner in PPC Main event was Magnus Nygren. He won 34.000 euro to take home to Sweden.

The total prize pool in Main Event ended up at 143.000 euros, and 22 players won money.

It is no coincidence that there were a record number of women players in the tournament. Paf continuously encourages and welcomes women to play poker.
The winner in the women’s event was Linda Strand from Sweden.
