Today, Bill Thomson MD and co-founder of Payatrader.com announced the general release of the UK’s first pocket sized, standalone card processing terminal with electronic receipting - specifically designed for home services traders and small businesses.

Not much bigger than a pocket calculator, the PayMate terminal is set to become the tool of choice for small businesses on the move allowing them to take immediate card payment, thereby avoiding non-guaranteed, delayed and cheques lost in the post.

The terminal is a fully accredited, secure chip & pin device with immediate authorisation and cardholder authentication. Adding a PayMate Chip & Pin terminal into the trader tool kit makes strong commercial sense; not only does it mean payment can be taken straightaway, which is good for cash flow, it means traders have a dedicated payment device which closely matches the existing cardholder experience, avoids Bluetooth pairing with other mobile devices and avoids cardholder concern about entering their details into someone else’s mobile phone.
