Contract includes Complete Product Line of Stock and Custom Healthcare Labels

PDC Healthcare, the global leader of innovative identification solutions, announced today that its healthcare labeling agreement has been renewed with the group purchasing organization, MedAssets. The contract renewal will begin on Aug. 1, 2014 and extend through July 31, 2017.

The renewed contract, MS03126, provides MedAssets’ members with direct access to PDC Healthcare’s complete line of healthcare labeling products including: laboratory system labels for specimen labeling; blood identification slide labels; pharmacy system and automated dispensing system labels for IV bags, medication bottles, and other containers; sterile medication labels for syringe labeling; and thousands of stock labels to identify hazards, alerts and other vital information. Charting supplies and patient ID products will remain contracted on other MedAssets agreements.

The two-tier contract represents the merger of MedAssets contracts: MS01277, MS01059, GS-531-BM02211, and GP-409/BM03829, which were held by legacy companies The St. John Companies and Precision Dynamics Corporation. Members can choose between two pricing levels which must be activated in the MedAssets Supply Chain Advisor.

MedAssets’ members will also have access to PDC Healthcare’s ValuePlus® Standardization Service that helps hospitals consolidate and centralize purchasing to reduce SKUs, labor, and supply costs. PDC Healthcare’s innovative products help healthcare institutions to adopt best practices to protect patients and achieve patient safety and regulatory compliance with important guidelines, including the Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals, HIPAA for protection of patient privacy, and APHA to reduce the risk of lost or transferred data.

“PDC Healthcare is pleased to continue our partnership with MedAssets by offering its members our industry-leading products at low, contracted pricing,” said Coleen Thompson, PDC Healthcare’s Director of GPO Contracts. “Our products help hospitals improve the safety and care of patients, while helping to streamline operations and workflow efficiencies.”
