Peab builds a new bridge in Uppsala

Peab has been contracted to build a new bridge over Fyrisån at Flottsund in Uppsala. The client is the Uppsala Municipality and the contract amounts to about SEK 112 million.

The contract covers construction of a new broader bridge that can get open on the site where an earlier bridge existed. There will also be pedestrian and bike lanes on both sides of the roadways.

The current bridge from 1924 does not correspond to current demands for accessibility and safety. Therefore, a new bridge will be built at Flottsund and the area around the bridge will get a boost. The result is both a new bridge and a better environment.

Construction will start in October 2015 and the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2017.
The project will be reported during the third quarter of 2015th
