Peab renovates elementary school in Helsinki

Peab has been commissioned to renovate Aleksis Kivi Elementary School on Porvoonkatu in Helsinki. The customer is the City of Helsinki and the contract is worth MEUR 22 million.

Peab has been commissioned to renovate Aleksis Kivi Elementary School on Porvoonkatu in Helsinki. The customer is the City of Helsinki and the contract is worth MEUR 22 million.

Peab will modernize the school according to current standards. The project entails increasing the number of bathrooms. All windows, roofs and facade plastering will be redone and any water-damaged constructions repaired. Even the under drainage system will be renewed and a machine room for ventilation will be built in the roof space.

The project is a turnkey contract. Renovation will begin in January 2019 and the project is expected to be completed in March 2021.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter of 2019.
