Face-to-face knowledge workshops and e-learning provide study flexibility

5 May 2011 – Crêchendo, one of the UK’s most respected training organisations within the Early Years, Childcare and Playwork sectors, is pleased to announce that it has launched a new blended learning initiative for QCF qualifications. Blended learning combines face-to-face knowledge workshops with e-learning and is ideal for learners who need greater flexibility in their studies. Combining the convenience of home study with the ability to learn directly from trainers and interact with peers; blended learning offers the best of both worlds for students. The programme from Crêchendo combines class-based knowledge sessions with on-line assessments, observation in the real work environment, tutorials and guided study. Having developed an on line learning system to support class based sessions in Leadership and Management qualifications, Crêchendo has now contracted with Laser Learning to provide an on-line learning element for Playwork and Children & Young People’s Workforce courses. Ruth Webster, CEO at Crêchendo says “we have had very positive feedback on the introduction of our blended learning initiative. Our learners tell us they get real value from face-to-face knowledge workshops, so combining them with the opportunity to use on-line guided learning and to work at their own pace, was a natural progression. Tracking their assessment progress on-line is very motivating and of course, we are reducing paperwork!” Crêchendo is currently using blended learning to deliver Playwork qualification programmes in Camden and Hampshire, and in Merton and Brixton there are blended learning programmes for the L3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce. Organisations interested in finding out about the Crêchendo blended learning programmes can contact ruth.webster@crechendo.com. --ENDS-- Note to Editors: About Crêchendo Crêchendo is one of the UK’s most respected training providers facilitating the qualification, education and development of individuals involved in the care of others, taking pride in delivering high quality solutions with proven results.
