The Pihlajalinna Group will strengthen its position as a national producer of social welfare and healthcare services. The company plans to expand to over ten new locations before the start of the healthcare and social welfare reform in 2019. This year, the company will expand at least to Oulu and Turku of the large university cities.

Primarily, Pihlajalinna will grow by opening completely new business locations. In addition, the company may expedite the pace of expansion with acquisitions.

Pihlajalinna will prepare for the future freedom of choice by gathering all of its services under one brand, Pihlajalinna. At the same time, Pihlajalinna's look and logo will be renewed to better depict the company's diverse services for customers' individual needs. The company has operated in private healthcare mainly under the Dextra brand. The change should be implemented at the latest by the start of the healthcare and social welfare reform.

"We want to take care of the health of Finns instead of just treating illnesses. As a Finnish actor, we want to be Finns' first partner in healthcare. Our aim is that Pihlajalinna means high-quality and friendly healthcare for everyone," says CEO Aarne Aktan. "When we open new locations around Finland, we will provide a new type of service experience for our customers."

Pihlajalinna announced its expansion plan and new look at its 15th anniversary celebration for its staff organised on Saturday night at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre.

Pihlajalinna has operated under the Pihlajalinna brand in municipal outsourcings in which it is the market leader in Finland. As the only actor, Pihlajalinna has founded joint ventures with municipalities and joint municipal authorities, which produce all social welfare and healthcare services in their locations. In the joint venture model, the residents of the municipalities receive services close to them and municipalities get tax revenue as well as a share of the joint venture's profit.
