Pihlajalinna starts codetermination negotiations concerning a new structure

Pihlajalinna Plc plans to renew its structure during early 2018. The company considers changing its operating model from business based organisation to geographical organisation. The company sees that the change would improve its operational preconditions and competitive position. Pihlajalinna’s current organisation consists of two business segments: Private Clinics and Specialised Care and Primary and Social Care. Both segments are divided into service areas. The company estimates that its current structure does not fully meet the future needs of customers.

Pihlajalinna considers changing to an organisational model with four geographical areas (Southern Finland, Central Finland, Ostrobothnia and Other areas). The area director would be responsible for the area’s service production to both private and public sector.

Concerning the new planned structure, Pihlajalinna starts codetermination negotiations for production-related reasons and due to restructuring of business operations. The negotiations will concern Pihlajalinna Plc’s subsidiaries Pihlajalinna Lääkärikeskukset Oy, Pihlajalinna Terveys Oy and Pihlajalinna Tampere Oy and mainly administrative, managerial and executive level positions in these companies. Other subsidiaries, such as Pihlajalinna’s joint ventures with municipalities, are not in the scope of the negotiations. The negotiations concern personnel in Pihlajalinna Lääkärikeskukset Oy, Pihlajalinna Terveys Oy and Pihlajalinna Tampere Oy, excluding among others employees who work solely in operational patient care or care work, in the Contact Center function or as private clinics’ customer and service advisers. According to the negotiation proposal, the restructuring could lead to a personnel reduction of up to 50 people. The codetermination negotiations concern about 240 employees. Pihlajalinna Group employs altogether approximately 4800 people.
