BPI.VISQUEEN ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR FRUIT FOCUS

With this year’s Fruit Focus rapidly approaching, bpi.visqueen has revealed its plans for the horticultural industry’s leading technical event. At the event, which takes place on 20th July 2011, the leading manufacturer of horticultural films will showcase both its latest product developments and its enhanced technological capabilities.

In particular, staff on the manufacturer’s stand (Stand 200) will be promoting the latest addition to its growing range of smart films. Lumisol is a UV transparent greenhouse film which allows UVB light to reach plants, helping to enhance their fragrance, taste and colour. UV transparent films also promote plant anti-oxidents, encouraging the growth of stronger plants. As stronger plants can be easier to plant out, this allows growers to save time and increase productivity.

Visitors to the bpi.visqueen stand will also be able to learn more about the recent technical developments within the business. Following a £7million investment project, the manufacturer’s Ardeer site is now equipped with state-of-the-art machinery including a 5 layer wide width film line thought to be one of the widest and most advanced anywhere in the world.

This new line will not only add to bpi.visqueen’s already impressive track record of supplying wide width films for horticultural applications, it will also enable the manufacturer to break new ground in terms of product development.

In addition, bpi.visqueen will use the event to promote its ability to help growers operate in a greener and more sustainable way. The business has strong links with its sister division bpi.recycled products, Europe’s largest recycler of waste polythene currently recycling some 68,000 tonnes of material annually. This material includes polythene scrap from unwanted polytunnels and crop covers, and bpi.recycled products even offers a hassle free waste collection service to help simplify the disposal demands faced by its customers.

Commenting on the manufacturer’s appearance at the show, Andy Barber, Sales Manager at bpi.visqueen, said: “Whether you’re talking about our diverse product range, our advanced facilities or our superior recycling capabilities, bpi.visqueen has a lot to offer growers. We look forward to demonstrating this at Fruit Focus 2011.”
