Catena opts for a storage and back-up solution from Proact for its locations in the Netherlands and Sweden
Utrecht – Catena, an innovative international company and an expert in system architecture and the design of “Integrated Circuits” (Chips), has chosen Proact for the delivery and implementation of a new storage and back-up solution. Catena is located in the “high tech” areas in the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria, and has its head offices in Delft.
Proact is providing a total solution, including a completely in-house, 24x7 support of the hardware and software for the locations in the Netherlands and Sweden. Catena has signed a three-year contract.

The CAD and R&D software used by Catena for chip design, among other things, produces large amounts of data (> 130 million records at the moment) that form part of the core business of Catena. Catena was looking for a highly scalable storage and back-up environment, and thereby opted for a NetApp Clustered Data Ontap solution. The solution consists of the recently launched NetApp FAS 2500 and NetApp FAS 8000 systems. This total solution provides Catena with maximum scalability, and also ensures that there will no longer be any business downtime during future data storage migrations.
