Lower cost of ownership gave ProAct major new deal with leading Swedish telecom supplier ProAct, a leading integrator and specialist on infrastructure for business critical information, has been awarded an order worth 13,9 million SEK from Ericsson Global IT Services AB. The deal includes a fileserver solution for home catalogues and project data. The new storage solution will be phased in gradually starting in December 2001. ProAct's solution means that Ericsson GIS will get higher performance and more space combined with reduced costs for administration and maintenance. In that way the investment will result in a dramatically lower cost of ownership. - The obvious strength of ProAct is that we, as an integrator and specialist, can focus on the customer's needs and expectations. We put the customers need for critical information in the center and present the best solution from all aspects; capacity, performance, future proof solutions and total cost of ownership, says Peter Dahlberg, Sales Manager at ProAct Datasystem AB. The solution is based on the latest file server technology from Network Appliance, which is scalable up to 18 terabyte of data, and replaces the existing NetApp environment, handling storage for both Windows- and Unix clients.
