Prosona, a Swedish software company, has assigned Proact to conduct a comprehensive update of its IT environment. Prosona’s existing server environment will be replaced by a hyperconverged infrastructure system designed to support the entire business.

Prosona Gruppen, based in Eskilstuna, is well known for its case management system Castor, used by local government departments across Sweden. Software development is a mission-critical function at Prosona, and requires substantial IT resource. That’s why the software company came to leading data centre and cloud service provider Proact, to draw on the company’s expertise to resolve challenges presented by lack of resource and an outdated IT environment.

With the new hyperconverged infrastructure solution, delivered by Proact, Prosona can replace all its existing servers with a single, integrated system. The system deliver all compute capacity, while managing storage, backup and networking, enabling simplified management for Persona’s IT resource. All flash storage is used in the solution rather than conventional magnetic disks, meaning that data can be kept for an extended period of time.

“We will now get a modern data centre solution which is considerably easier to manage than our previous environment with standalone servers,” says Jonas Lindberg, Operations Manager at Prosona Gruppen. “It is easy to scale up as our needs grow, and saves plenty of space. We are also confident in Proact as a partner and trust their support as we deploy the new environment.”

As part of Prosona’s development work, the organisation frequently uses temporary servers for software testing, a resource which is easily provided through to the virtualised environment with software-defined server management. In addition, Prosona will benefit from high availability and seamless flexibility, without disruptive data migrations, due to the solution’s ability to scale in accordance with business demands.

“Prosona demonstrates how small businesses too can benefit from enterprise-class IT infrastructure,” says Per Sedihn, CTO Nordic at Proact. “Today, we can build a fully featured data centre which literally can be housed in a cleaning cupboard. It saves both space and energy, while delivered as an easily managed turnkey solution.”
