Allison 3000 Series™ for wheeled defense applications and Allison X200™ for tracked vehicle applications to be shown at defense and security show

LONDON – Allison Transmission will showcase its world-renowned 3000 Series™ and X200™ fully automatic transmissions, globally recognized for quality, reliability and durability, at this year’s DSEI (September 15-18, ExCel, London, stand N5-170 US Pavilion). The leading defense and security exhibition is an excellent opportunity for some of its 30,000 visitors to see these transmissions, specially designed to operate in the harshest conditions, while ensuring unrivaled performance with Allison’s Continuous Power Technology™.

The Allison 3000 Series is designed for medium-sized wheeled vehicles with engines rated up to 336 kW (450 hp). It is engineered to adapt and operate reliably in a variety of harsh and demanding environments. Featuring close- and wide-ratio gearing, a patented torque converter and 5th Generation advanced electronic controls to enhance shift strategies, Allison transmissions deliver exceptional vehicle control and maneuverability over the toughest terrain.

Allison’s 3000 Series models also feature engine-driven Power Take-Off (PTO) provisions and an optional integral output retarder for enhanced vehicle braking and reduced brake wear, while their helical gear design reduces noise.

Allison Transmission’s X200 is designed for light to medium tracked vehicles up to 40,000 lbs (18,144 kg) and engine ratings up to 400 hp (298 kW). The X200 has a cross-drive design that integrates steering and braking into one compact and rugged unit. With four forward and two reverse ranges and full-power hydrostatic steering for smooth, efficient control, the X200 provides the ultimate in reliability and durability. The X200 is equipped with fully electronic controls for use with modern engines and a torque converter with an automatic lock-up clutch for smooth, efficient starts and stops.

“Allison offers a full range of automatic transmissions and has a proud heritage of defense support, with more than 60 years of providing advanced transmission technology to military customers around the world,” said James M. Coleman, Allison Transmission’s area manager for the UK and Ireland. “DSEI allows us to meet with industry OEMs and national defense delegates interested in learning how Allison transmissions can deliver required transmission solutions for such a demanding application.”
