Allison Transmission presents its Off-Road automatic transmission line-up at M&T Expo 2012, Latin America’s largest construction and mining equipment exhibit.

São Paulo, BRAZIL – Allison Transmission will be showcasing it’s heavy-duty, Off-Road Series (ORS) transmissions, including 3000 and 4000 Series cutaway display units, from May 29 through June 2, at the Imigrantes Exposition Center. (Hall B, Stand 8)  Comprised of many simultaneous events, M&T Expo 2012 offers the most advanced technologies and processes in the construction and mining sectors. Industry insiders expect substantial investments in infrastructure from both municipal and private sectors this year, as many large-scale initiatives have been developed to meet 5-year segment expansion forecasts.

Allison’s Continuous Power TechnologyTM delivers uninterrupted power from the engine to the drive wheels, resulting in superior reliability, durability, performance, fuel efficiency and ease of operation. With a long and trusted history in demanding market sectors like mining and construction, Allison has provided its customers with important benefits resulting from enhanced productivity and diminished maintenance costs.

"The current situation in Brazil reaffirms the outstanding performance of our Off-Road products,” said Evaldo Oliveira, Allison Transmission's operations director for South America. “As in many other regions, local clients demanding durability, reliability and productivity gains are asking for  Allison-equipped vehicles."

In fact, both Randon and Perlini equip 100 percent of their trucks with Allison fully automatic transmissions, citing reliability as central to that decision. Randon’s RK430M and Randon/Perlini RDP 470, both equipped with Allison automatic transmissions, will be displayed at the exhibition, along with other mining and construction equipment, including concrete mixers.

“Many concrete companies around the world are using Allison automatic transmissions, including an increasing number of customers in Brazil.  Some customers now consider manual transmission equipped vehicles a high financial risk, due to excessive clutch wear and driveline damage. For that reason, customers are looking toward an automatic transmission to lower maintenance costs and reduce downtime,” said Evaldo Oliveira.  “The additional benefits of improved productivity, fuel efficiency and safety are being recognized.  Ease of use eliminates specialized driver training costs, but also helps to reduce distractions. Drivers keep both hands on the steering wheel and both eyes fixed on the job. Further competitive advantages, like lower training costs and safer operation, make an Allison automatic the solid choice for construction and mining vehicles.”
