With a total investment of 50 million euros, the largest single investment in the company’s 97 year history to date, Viessmann will construct a new technology centre, to support the company’s drive for a ‘climate of innovation’, at is headquarters in Allendorf, Germany.

The building, due to be completed in 2017, will be the largest technical centre of its kind, and will be responsible for the development of new technologies, such as heating and renewable energy power generation systems as well as component testing. Facilities for the measurement and analysis of performance of technologies, including the exhaust and noise emissions of various types of heat generators and combined heat and power systems are confirmed to be managed from here. In addition, approval tests for national and international norms or labels and practice-oriented endurance tests can be carried out here. To ensure maximum capability, the centre will house more than 100 inspection stations and over 200 life test rigs.

The Viessmann Innovation Centre has its own seminar rooms where staff, for example from the sales department, can be trained during the development phase for new product launches.

"This innovative new centre is being built to ensure Viessmann continually advances, not only for new product development processes, but also improving our existing product ranges and efficiency." says Viessmann Board member Dr. Klaus-Peter Kegel.

He goes on to say, “We see this as a great investment in the future, not only of Viessmann, but also in Allendorf, securing jobs at the Centre.”
